Peacock cichlids are freshwater fish, habitat in Lake Malawi, Africa. This tropical fish are popular amongst aquarists because of their lively behaviour, bright colours, shapes, size and intelligence.   • The males are a bright yellow to metallic blue
  • Males have brighter, bolder colors compared to females
  • Peacock cichlids are fast swimmers and require plenty of open space in the bottom and mid-sections of the tank
  • They’re active during the day and rest during the night


 

The Best Aquarium Size for Cichlid:

The minimum tank size for peacock cichlids is 100L. A big tank is very necessary for a community of four to six peacock cichlids. The tank size is going to affect fish lifespan, the bigger is always the better. Peacock cichlids are active swimmers that will use all the tank space you provide. The tank should have more horizontal than vertical space.

Tank Mate Compatibility:

Peacock cichlids can peacefully share a tank with fish species that thrive in the same water conditions.  Don’t house peacock cichlids with aggressive fish species like betta fishtiger barbs, and most other cichlid species.

Live plants are a great idea. You should choose only hardy plants because peacock cichlids have a habit of digging and disturbing foliage.
